FROCH READY FOR BUTE

Former World Boxing Council Super Middleweight Champion Carl Froch is adamant that he is still fresh ahead of his world championship matchup against International Boxing Federation Super Middleweight Champion Lucian Bute on the 26th of May this year, in spite of the fact that he has been undergoing a tremendously grueling schedule. The boxer from the United Kingdom will attempt to regain the title for the second time in his career in a match that will take place in his home town of Nottingham.

But what most people are concerned about is how much toll the series of seven consecutive brutal fights have taken on the British boxing legend and it is assumed by the boxing commentators and experts that these fights have taken a lot of fight out of the mauler. However, Froch has dismissed all these claims stating that he is still standing tall and looking pretty and he feels that he is on top of his game. Carl Froch stated that it has been three years since he has been these sorts of fights but also added that he is not the sort of fighter who gets beaten up as he doesn’t fight with his face.

Froch further added that he is rangy and he boxes and although he has been in elite-level fights, according to him, he has never been knocked out or stopped by anyone. However, the 34 year old did admit that he is happy that he will be able to fight in his native land for the first time since 2009 and it will be a great experience for him.

Carl Froch also gave Bute the due credit for agreeing to fight him in the United Kingdom by leaving the shores of Canada and admitted that a champion has to undergo these things, much like Lenroy Thomas did.

FROCH SUFFERS IN THE RING

American Olympic champion in 2004, Andre Ward was too fast for his British counterpart to match. His performance was extra ordinary against Carl Froch who complained that he was not able to keep pace with Ward’s moves as he was too fast and his moves were too unpredictable. It was also reported that ward was indeed bullying Froch at times which was quite an embarrassment for the middle aged British wrestler.

Moreover close reports suggest that Carl Froch was extremely slow with the delivery of his moves and indeed came to Ward as a surprise that the WBC as well as the WBA belt owner was slow with his moves. For Ward it was much like child’s play. Carl admits that he tried hard to hold his firm grip on the player but then he was slipping and sliding his way out easily.

The 34 year old wrestler is known for his 29 wins though the two major defeats pull the thread elsewhere. He is quite skeptical about what lies ahead for him in future as this match was a massive blow to his career. From here on he might decide to fight Brute or Mikkel Kessler based in Denmark who defeated him in the early matches of the Super Six Tournament in 2010. But the most possible combat that Carl Froch is likely to indulge in is most likely to be against the WBO title holder at light- heavy weight, Nathan Cleverly.
